The cultural festival Chennai Sangamam conducted by Tamil Maiyam and Department of Tourism and Culture has invited vision papers from corporate leaders, academics, experts, bureaucrats, activists and interested citizens on how Tamilnadu should be in the year 2020.
According to a press release, the paper should be either a comprehensive vision plan encompassing various fields or a vision for a particular field (education, industry, human resources rural transformation, water resources management, women's development, culture and tourism) in which the individual has expertise.
A group of eminent panelists will shortlist and select the best three presenters who would be given the 'Master Visionary' title and award at a function here. The award carries a citation, shield and public recognition.
The vision paper should not only set a vision but elaborate on an action plan road map. The document shouldn't be less than five pages and more than 20 pages and they should reach Tamil Maiyam office located at 68, Luz Church Road, Mylapore, Chennai - 600 004 on or before 15 March.
Also, 'Tamilnadu 2020' essay competition is conducted for school and college students. Those students studying in IX, X, XI and XII are eligible under a single category.
Three winners would be given a citation, 'Student Visionary title' and a cash prize of Rs 5,000, 2,500 and 1,000 respectively. College students would be considered a separate category and three winners among them would be given a citation, young visionary title and a cash prize of Rs 5000, 3000 and 1000 respectively.
The essays could be written
either in English or in Tamil and should reach on or before 20 March. The
essays shouldn't be less than five pages and more than 10 pages. For details
