Low-cost carrier SpiceJet tied-up with Tata AIG to offer domestic travel insurance at a nominal cost of Rs 129, which is a unique proposal brought out by any airline in the country.
The company would add eight more aircraft by March next year and currently it has 11 Boeing 737s in its fleet.
Spiecejet chief executive officer Siddhanta Sharma said that said it is likely to break even in the April-June quarter this fiscal and will become the first of the new entrants in the domestic civil aviation space to achieve this feat, two years after it started operations.
He said that the airliner
as part of its celebrations of completing two years of operations, the
carrier would offer two lakhs seats at a special price of 99 paise for
two or more persons travelling together beginning today till 6 June on
all its non-stop flights, covering 14 destinations.
