Zicom acquires stakes in Dubai firm

        Zicom Electronic Security Systems Limited has acquired 49 per cent stake in Dubai-based Unisafe Fire Protection Specialists. The deal was finalised at Rs 25 crore. Speaking on the stake acquisition, Manohar Bidaye, chairman, Zicom Electronic Security Systems Limited said, 'Electronic solutions business is booming in the Middle East and our strategic relationship would help us to offer solutions for electronic security and fire safety.'

GoAir's special offer

        GoAir announced its special GoCelebrate offer, a unique scheme that allows customers to plan and book tickets to celebrate the upcoming festive season beginning July to September 2007 for tickets priced as low as Rs 225 across all GoAir destinations. The airlines offer has prices starting at Rs 225- for short haul flights between Mumbai-Goa, Ahmedabad-Delhi and Rs 525 for long haul flights like Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Jaipur, Bengalooru-Mumbai, Mumbai- Chennai. The offer for booking tickets will be valid from 21 May to 25 May 2007 for travel between July to September 2007 and passengers can log on to the GoAir website, www.goair.in to avail the offer.

SBICAP to play a new role

        SBI Capital Markets Ltd (SBICAP), the investment banking arm of State Bank of India has been appointed as the financial advisor by Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) for setting up new coal based power generation plants. SBICAP will be advising BPC on project structuring, financial advisory, all project contracts besides assisting the syndication of debt. The plants will be set up in two phases, each of 600 MW capacity. Cost of the Phase-I Project, which is expected to be commissioned by 2010, is estimated at about $1 billion.

Infosys signs pact with TV 18 group

        Infosys BPO announced a strategic alliance with TV 18 group to launch Source 18 which would provide a full spectrum of services to media and entertainment companies globally. The new entity would offer services enabling content for digital media including digital archiving and metatagging, re-purposing content, work flow charting, ideation, re-editing, transcoding, quality control as well as media process outsourcing which will include promo production, traffic management.

NBHC signs MoU with BoI

        National Bulk Handling Corporation Ltd (NBHC), announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of India (BoI), to work together in the area of warehouse-based receipt financing. The agreement was signed by K Pothiraj, GM, Priority Sector Advances, BoI, and Anil Choudhary, MD and CEO of NBHC in the presence of M Balachandran CMD, BoI and K R Kamath, executive director, BoI.

        NBHC Cecure, NBHC's collateral management initiative, currently has ten leading Indian banks as part of its collateral management network. NBHC Cecure works with these banks closely to help farmers and traders get credit for their farm produce.
