        A neighbour who had stolen Rs 1 lakh in cash from the house of a DMK taluk secretary in Anna Nagar few days ago was arrested by police here yesterday.

        Police said, DMK taluk secretary Gunasekar had noticed that the money he had kept in his almirah was missing a few days ago.

        He lodged a complaint with the police. Investigations revealed that one Durai, a hotel employee and neighbour of Gunasekaran, had stolen the money. Police recovered Rs 84,000 in cash from him.
