Murder accused held

Chennai, May 22:

        An accused involved in the murder of a Railway engineer in Bhopal a few months ago was arrested by the police from his hideout at Rettaerri near Red Hills.

        Bhopal Police in the course of investigation on the murder of Railway engineer nabbed Gowri Shankar from Vijayawada. During his interrogation, the police stumbled upon the name of Prakash Reddy and that he was evading arrest by hiding at a place in Chennai.

        Following this revelation, a police team from Bhopal arrived in Chennai and sought the assistance of city police. During an inspection round this morning at Rettaerri, a three-member team led by Red Hills Deputy Commissioner Sampath Kumar found Prakash Reddy being employed in a marble shop in that locality. The police immediately surrounded the area and nabbed the wanted person.

        The city police handed over the culprit to the special team from Madhya Pradesh which would take the murder-accused to Bhopal shortly.

        The Bhopal Police thanked their counterparts in Chennai for extending their timely assistance in nabbing the criminal.
