        A drunken man bit a head constable, while trying to escape from policemen here recently. Policemen, accompanying the constable, gave chase and caught hold of him.

        When Korukkupet police received information that two inebriated persons were kicking up a ruckus on Kannan Salai in Korukkupet, head constable Selvaraj (40) and two policemen were sent to the spot.

        While one of them managed to give the policemen the slip, Selvaraj caught hold of the other person i.e. one Saravanan (35), a labourer from Bharathy Nagar in Korukkupet. Saravanan had bitten the cop's hand till it bled and tried to run away. He was soon caught by the other two policemen.
