A national conference of All India Confederation of Other Backward Class Employees' Welfare Associations would be held at Kalaingar Arangam on May 24, announced its secretary general P Vaiyapuri at a press conference here yesterday.
He said that the conference would pass a resolution demanding the Centre to enact a law, ensuring 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in elite educational institutions.
He said the 'Social Justice Conference' would demand reservation for OBCs in the private sector and the judiciary, constitution of a parliamentary committee for OBCs, removal of the creamy layer concept, granting of constitutional status to the National Backward Class Commission and separate reservation for SC, ST and BC women.
