        Sify Limited, a consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery capabilities, and the International Chamber of Commerce in India, announced the appointment of David Appasamy, chief communications officer, Sify Limited, as the vice-chair of the Internet and Telecoms Infrastructure and Services (IT-IS) Task Force of ICC's EBITT Commission which is managed by ICC Secretariat in Paris.

        Commenting on his appointment, Guy Sebban, ICC Secretary General said, 'We are delighted to appoint David as the vice-chair of ICC's Internet and Telecoms Infrastructure and Services Task Force.

        This is a very active Task Force given the rapid rate of growth of Internet and Telecoms services and infrastructures, and we believe his substantive and guiding contributions will be very beneficial to the efforts of the Task Force while assisting Gordon Moir of British Telecom who is the chairman of the Task Force.

        David has contributed to ICC and EBITT in a number of ways over the last two years, and we are very pleased to have him help lead the work of this Task Force as the policy and practical issues in this area are of critical importance to businesses the world over.
