      After Chennai racer Narain Shankar's dominating performance in round one on Saturday it was the turn of Delhi's Karthik Shankar of Team Wallace Sports to take the honours in race one of round two of the JK Tyre Junior Racing Cup at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irungattukottai yesterday.

        Starting from pole in a grid of 16 Formula Maruti cars, Karthik Shankar shot into the lead and did lose momentum till the finish. Building up a good lead, Karthik took the chequered flag far ahead of his nearest competitor and team mate Rohit Khanna from Bangalore with a margin difference of almost 10 seconds.

        In the second race, it was a repeat effort by Karthik Shankar as he came up with another scintillating effort to record his second win of the day. Sudarshan Rao's consistent performance helped him to annex the 2nd place while Rohit Khanna came third.

        Luck continued to evade Narain Shankar as he finished in 8th place. Karthik Shankar once had the fastest lap timing of 01:14:240.

        At the end of round 2, Karthik Shankar and Sudarshan Rao are tied in first place with 30 points each, while Narain Shankar from Chennai and Team Rams Racing is in second place with 23 points. Rohit Khanna is in third place with a tally of 22 points.
