Villupuram, Apr 23:
Political rivalry between a DPI leader and a PMK activist led to contamination of a fish-breeding tank in Keezh Chithamur. As a result, the entire school of fish was found dead.
Police said a tank in Keezh Chithamur was leased out to one Vijayakumar to breed fish.
Panchayat president and DPI
district secretary Cheran and former PMK MLA Chithamur Arumugham who unsuccessfully
contested against Cheran had differences and frequently got into quarrels
since the election. Complaints in this connection have been preferred at
Kilianur police station. On 21 April, the fish were found dead and it is
suspected that Chithamur Arumugham had contaminated the tank. A complaint
has been lodged with Kilianur police in this regard.
