Woman electrocuted

        A middle-aged woman was electrocuted when she stepped onto rain water that had contact with electric wire last night at Choolaimedu.

        Dhanavathy, 35, living at Padmanabha Nagar in Choolaimedu, was employed in an apartment located opposite her house. While returning home, she stepped onto rain water which had contact with a snapped wire from electric pole. Immediately, she was thrown off to a distance and sustained electric shocks.

        Neighbours complained to the police who rushed to the spot and sent her to the Kilpauk Government Hospital. But she died on the way to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Electricity Board staff had set right the snapped wire.
