        State government has declared official holiday on 27 August (Monday) in view of Onam festivity for Chennai district.

        In lieu of this holiday, all government offices and educational institutions would function on 8 September (Saturday), according to a press release from the District Collectorate. However, the treasury and sub-treasury would function with skeleton staff without affecting the larger public, it was informed.
