Time for Spicejet to party

        To commemorate its two years of successful operations, SpiceJet today announced a slew of measures for its customers.

        The airliner is offering of 2 lakh seats at a special price of 99 paise for 2 or more guests traveling together, an offer that will be open for 2 weeks (22 May- 6 June 2007) on all its non-stop flights covering 14 destinations. The offer is available on SpiceJet's website www.spicejet.com

        Sale of food on board will start on SpiceJet flights for more than 90 minutes from today to coincide with the second anniversary celebrations.

        SpiceJet has recently tied up with TATA-AIG to offer domestic travel insurance at a nominal cost of Rs 129. This is a unique proposal brought out for the first time by any airline in India.

        Commenting on its financial performance, Siddhanta Sharma, chief executive officer said that the airline is likely to break even in the April-June'07 quarter and would be the first of the new entrants to achieve this feat.

        SpiceJet is slated to add 8 brand new Boeing Aircraft including 5 737-900 ERs, the first of its kind in the Indian Skies. The airline is expected to add up to 6 new destinations and would be operating over 150 flights per day by the close of this fiscal year.

        On two years successful journey, Kamal Hingorani, vice president, marketing and planning said, 'I take this opportunity to thank all the guests who have flown SpiceJet in the last two years and have shown faith and confidence in us.
