        A man, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, who was bound for Dubai was arrested at the airport here today for reportedly concealing narcotics in pickle bottles and trying to smuggle it to Kuwait.

        According to police, the man identified as Sheikh Kadar was held when Customs officials intercepted him when he was about to board the flight at 4.45 a.m.

        On suspicion, the Customs officials checked his luggage and found them to be containing pickle bottles. When the seals were broke open, the officials found syringes filled with narcotic substances hidden inside. Following this, the pickle bottles were seized. During interrogation, Kadar is said to have told the officials that one of his neighbours had given him the bottles which were meant to be handed over to his son in Kuwait.

        Later, Customs officials handed over the syringes to the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau.
