Lord Balaji rides on huge chariot

Devotees pulling a chariot a on the eighth day of
the annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala Hills.

        The processional deities of Lord Venkateswara with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi were taken on a colourful procession on the eighth day of the annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala Hills yesterday.

        The deities were taken around four streets encircling the temple of Lord Balaji on a huge wooden chariot. Thousands of devotees gathered in front of the chariot and pulled it amidst chanting 'Govinda Govinda' and throwing of salt and pepper on the chariot as per the age- old tradition.

        Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board chairman B Karunakara Reddy, TTD executive officer K V Ramanachary, TTD joint executive officer G Balaramaiah and Chief Vigilance and Security Officer P Hari Kumar took part in the procession.
