Huge haul of pirated CDs

      Over 5000 pirated VCDs and DVDs of newly-released Tamil movies worth Rs 20 lakh were seized from a commercial complex in Egmore today.

        Following a tip-off, the sleuths of the anti-video piracy cell raided a shop at the commercial complex in Egmore and seized VCDs and DVDs of several newly-released Tamil movies including Paruthi Veeran, Deepavali, Pokkiri and Alwar.

        Raja Mohammad (21), who was selling the pirated CDs was arrested.

        Investigations revealed that Raja Mohammad was involved in manufacturing these pirated CDs with the help of one Moorthy from Puducherry. Police are on lookout for Moorthy, who has been absconding.
