        A major fire broke out at a computer firm on Ritchie Street in Anna Salai last night in which computer spare parts worth several lakh of rupees were destroyed.

        According to police, a security guard at a commercial complex alerted the Fire and Rescue Services Personnel after he found smoke emanating from the computer firm.

        A total of 13 teams of Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and battled for over four hours to douse the fire.

        A case has been registered with Chintadripet police.

        Investigations are on to find the cause of the fire.
