        An ordinary meeting of the Corporation Council will be held at Ripon buildings tomorrow to pass resolutions on development projects including awarding of tender bids for constructing eight flyovers in the city.

        The council meet would be presided over by Mayor M Subramanian in the presence of Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni. At the meeting, a resolution would be passed to call for tenders for the proposed eight flyovers which were expected to decongest the arterial roads in the city.

        As per the budget announcement, another resolution would be passed to provide an annual scholarship of Rs 25,000 each to 25 rank holders from the Corporation schools for pursuing their Engineering and Medical courses. Moreover, the council would discuss and pass resolutions on solid waste management, road repair works and on means to tackle water shortage at the meeting tomorrow, according to sources. All ward councillors were expected to attend the meeting, including DMK leader Ramalingam and Opposition leader Saidai Ravi.
