The State government today clarified that the unauthorised billboards put up in various parts of the city will be regularised soon after obtaining a verdict from the courts in this regard.
An official press release here stated that several billboards had been erected in and around the city without getting prior approval from the district Collector. Also, they had not paid any fee to the Corporation or the Municipality concerned. Since a stay had been obtained on any action being taken against them, the billboards continued to exist, the release added.
The cases have been pending in courts for the past eight months. However, the government is committed to preventing unauthorised hoardings being erected in the city, the release said.
Also, efforts would be made
to bring down unauthorised billboards and it would be regularised after
obtaining a court verdict in this regard.
