A jewel in the crown

GV Films Limited, has come up trumps again and this time it is in the international arena. Mayavi, the first 3-D television serial, is the only Indian nominee in the Special Prize Category at this year's Seoul Drama Awards (SDA).

The SDA 2007 has attracted 130 entries in 20 categories from some of the leading international production houses including India, of which 34 have been short-listed for nominations.

Nominated in the Special Prize Category, GV Films shares space with some of the leading production houses from Sweden, Russia, Jordan, Philippines and Sri Lanka.

It all started hardly a year and half ago, when GV announced that it was venturing into a live action 3-D serial for television.

Mayavi, a 26-weekly serial on Jaya TV won accolades from various quarters.

Then in June, SDA called for entries from across the globe to showcase television dramas of substance and creativity. Then the Korean Broadcasters Association invited GV Films on board to be a special participant at the Broad Cast World Wide 2007 (BCWW).
