Four new classrooms built for students of The Lady Nye Madras Round Table No 1 Special Higher Secondary School at Pallipattu, near Chennai, have been inaugurated by Madras Round Table No 1 (MRT 1) Sethu Vaidyanathan, chairman, MRT 1, said they were also constructing a new auditorium at a cost of Rs 7.5 lakh.
'We would like to reinforce our ideology of facilitating free early education for the underprivileged younger generation', he added.
Actor Parthiban presided over the function.
According to a press release, over the past 50 years, MRT 1 had adopted several notable community service projects, supporting the less privileged. MRT 1's permanent project The Lady Nye Madras Round Table No.1 Special Higher Secondary School, Pallipattu, ensures a positive future and free education for the 650 day scholars and residential support for 192 orphans.
The Clark School for the
Deaf and Special Children, Mathru Mandir, the centre for Down's Syndrome,
Cancer Hospital- Paediatric Mahesh Memorial Ward are some of the other
long-term projects of MRT 1, added the release.
