        A one-day training programme on 'Growing Bonsai at Home' will be conducted by Urban Horticulture Development Centre (UHDC) of Tamilnadu Agricultural University on 29 August on UHDC premises, Anna Nagar, here, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm.

        According to a press release, the programme is open to housewives, college students, nursery businessmen and urban entrepreneurs.

        The course will cover selection of plants and pots, growing condition, medium, nutrition, training bonsai into different styles, maintaining bonsai plants etc.

        Vishu Kaliappan, president of South Indian Bonsai Association, will be the resource person for the training programme. Training certificates will be issued to all participants. Registration fee is Rs 300.
