Sir,
The acquittal of JMM leader Sibu Soren has come as a shocking development in a 14-year-old murder case. The acquittal, while casting another inerasable black mark on the CBI, vouched for the fact that the Central investigating agency always acts as a puppet in the hands of powerful politicians and the party, which holds power in the Centre.
The acquittal, which has come close on the heels of the despicable handling of the Italian fugitive Quattrocchi's case by the CBI, has given rise to many unanswerable questions for the Central government and the CBI.
What sort of evidence had the CBI produced at the lower court to get the culprits punished? Why the HC felt that such evidences were not enough to punish the same culprits? If such evidences were not enough, then how come the lower court pronounced the accused guilty and accorded punishment? Was the result of the DNA test carried on the skeleton of the victim a 'managed' one? How come the High Court opined that the amount of Rs 35 lakh in the bank account had come from a business transaction? Was that fact established by the defence? Why did Sibu Soren run away and remain absconding when he was a Minister if he was innocent? This development is yet another proof for the ugly history of Congress' handling of CBI. The party always treats the investigating agency as 'Congress Bureau of Investigation,' because, when it comes to power at the 'Centre', the word 'Central' in all departments is replaced by the word 'Congress.'
Whenever politicians are involved, the law takes it's 'own and slow' course till the time of verdict, and again takes an 'own but quick' course for acquittal if they are found guilty. The government of the day orders the course of law and Judiciary!
