Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced a solatium of Rs 50,000 each to the next of kin of those who died yesterday in a bar near Tirupur.
In a statement here, the Chief Minister said he was deeply grieved to learn the news about the death of 28 men when the wall of an adjacent building collapsed on a bar near Tirupur.
While the families of the dead would be given Rs 50,000, seven men who were injured and now being treated would get Rs 15,000 from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
The Chief Minister deputed
his Cabinet colleagues Pongalur Palanisamy, Swaminathan, Periyasamy and
Velu to rush to the place and ensure that relief works are expedited, the
release added. It may be recalled that 28 men were crushed to death in
a tasmac bar near Tirupur when a wall of an adjacent building collapsed
on it yesterday.
