Rane Institute wins US award

        Rane Institute for Employee Development (RIED) has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council.

        RIED centre which was inaugurated on 21 June, 2007 was designed to achieve LEED certification for site selection, water and energy efficiency, material use, and a variety of other sustainable strategies.

        'Interestingly, RIED is engaged in training and developing future leaders for Rane Group of companies year round—quality benchmarking and achieving excellence and thought leaders in the auto component industry are the areas of utmost importance to us,' said L Ganesh, chairman, Rane group.

        To support the projected high growth in the auto industry, the Rane group has invested in technology, create capacities, implement efficient production systems, and build competencies of people. RIED plays a key role by providing training for building competencies and consulting for better production systems.

        Sustainable design was one part of an overall approach that was respectful of its physical surroundings, the environment and the employees that would occupy the building.

        And RIED is housed in a spacious campus with a built-in space of 16,000 sq ft. It has set up with an investment of Rs 4.6 crore on building and facilities alone, excluding land. Housed in a green building, RIED is equipped with state-of-the-art facility consisting of a seminar hall, two training halls with integrated audio-visual systems.
