        Vijaya Bank has opened an ATM at Veltech Multimedia College attached to Avadi branch with VSAT connectivity.

        At a function held at the college premises, Vijaya Bank executive director T Valliappan inaugurated the ATM facility in the presence of Vel group of educational institutions founder chairman R Rangarajan. And Sakunthala Rangarajan presided over the function.

        This is the first off-site ATM with VSAT connectivity in Chennai region. The bank has plans to open 250 ATMs by March 2007 and the number of branches to cross 1000. The bank has targeted to achieve a business of Rs 6,000 crore.

        The ED also issued sanction orders to some of the beneficiaries of education and V-Cash loans on the occasion.

        Earlier, M Rathnakar Shetty, regional manager, Vijaya Bank , Chennai region welcomed the gathering.
