        A 11-year-old boy was kidnapped by unidentified men last night at Saligramam and a sum of Rs 5 lakh was being demanded as ransom for his release.

        Arvind, studying in VI Class, is the son of Karthikeyan residing at Logaiah Colony in Saligramam.

        When he did not return home after playing with his friends in the evening till 8 pm, his father Karthikeyan received a call from unknown miscreants that Arvind was kidnapped and only after payment of Rs 5 lakh to them, he would be released.

        Following this call, Karthikeyan lodged a police complaint.

        A special team led by Assistant Commissioner Sethu has been formed to investigate the case and nab the unidentified miscreants.
