        Police arrested a man after a hot chase on the 200 Feet Road near Manali and they are searching for a second man. The two men tried to hijack a vehicle.

        According to police, Bagyaraj, a resident of Maduravoyal, was a owner-cum-driver of a container lorry. Last night, the driver parked the vehicle at Santhankadu Jothi Nagar near Tiruvottiyur. Cleaner Ramesh, who was sleeping near the lorry, woke up in the wee hours, to see the lorry being driven away by some unidentified persons.

        Acting on information, the police control room alerted the vehicle check posts in and around the city. A team on Manali High Road spotted the vehicle and gave a hot chase. The lorry came to a halt after hitting a lamp post and one of them was arrested and identified as Sakthi of Tondiarpet.
