Chennai, July 28:
AIADMK would stage a protest demonstration in front of Ramanathapuram Railway station on 31 July against the inordinate delay in the commissioning of BG train services from Madurai to Rameswaram.
In a press statement today, AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa flayed the Centre and the State government run by its main ally the DMK for not flagging off the train services on the broad gauge line which was completed two months ago.
Due to non-availability of train services to Rameswaram, a pilgrimage and tourist centre, and popular spots like Erwadi Dargah, many passengers including students, workers, traders and tourists were put to hardships, she noted.
To protest against the anti-people
stance of the DMK government and the ruling UPA at the Centre, the Ramanathapuram
unit of the AIADMK would stage a demonstration in front of the railway
station on 31 July from 10 am onwards. The agitation would be led by Jayalalithaa
Peravai secretary N Dalavai Sundaram and AIADMK's district secretary M
Sundarapandian and the affiliated units of the party would take part in
the demonstration at the Railway station.
