Chennai, July 28:
State Local Administration Minister M K Stalin inaugurated 25 development works worth Rs 4.45 crore in North Chennai yesterday.
According to Chennai Corporation press release, the Minister also gave away cheques worth more than Rs 26 lakh to the beneficiaries under the Moovalur Ramamirtham Memorial Wedding Assistance and Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Assistance schemes.
Stalin declared open employees' quarters at the Communicable Diseases Hospital, Tondiarpet, a renovated community hall, additional classrooms and laboratories at Corporation schools, Child Care Centres (anganwadis), noon meal centres and gymnasiums.
Large projects include the quarters for 20 employees at Tondiarpet and additional classrooms at Corporation High School on Madhavaram High Road and the Corporation Primary School at Subburayan Road.
The projects are located in zones one to five in areas such as Karunanidhi Nagar, Patel Nagar, Kannadasan Nagar, Muthamizh Nagar, SIDCO Nagar, Harrington Road and Otteri.
