        For any lover of handicrafts, a visit to 'Craft Bazaar' exhibition can indeed be delightful. As even the cursory observers attempt to resist the temptation to purchase the captivating products on display.

        The exhibition, organised by the Artisans Welfare Society at Sri Sankara Hall, Alwarpet, Chennai, has brought endless, vibrant hues of Indian craftsmanship that embodies ethnic grandeur and fine quality.

        The incredible range of exhibits including traditional collection of textiles, handlooms, painting, gem stones, Panipet carpets, Jaipur quilts, patt chitra of Orissa, lac bangles and a colourful miniature of paintings are some of the products on show.

        Most of the items like intricately designed Toran (wall hanging), exclusive Kashmiri dresses woven by hand, stone and eco paintings and five metal jewellery are some of the entrancing articles.

        A craftsman from Rajasthan said,' this bazaar is an ideal platform to gauge the mood and trend of the market and it is an apt place to tap new markets.

        Exhibition of this sort is a boon for craftsmen like me, as we directly interact between connoisseurs of arts, exporters, distributors retailers and other potential buyers'.

        It provides immense opportunity for sales promotion and exposure to small-scale artisans services like me,' he added.

        While a regular visitor for such exhibition, Sowmya, a housewife, said 'unlike big shopping malls these exhibitions gives a rare opportunity to admire and select various types of exclusive Indian handicrafts, handloom and textile under one roof '.

        The price of the products ranges between Rs 10 and Rs 50,000. The exhibition- cum- sale was inaugurated by actress Mumtaz. It would be open till 28 May.
