When P Thiruvengadam of Congress party (ward 36) said the vacancies for sanitary works have not yet been filled and wondered whether there was any possibility of filling up vacant posts on temporary basis (89 days). To this, the Mayor of Chennai Corporation M Subra-maniam replied that the sanitory works in zone 6, 8 and 10 had been handed over to private parties. The sanitary workers had been disbursed accordingly and hence the sanitary workers who had not yet been assigned so far would be disbursed to meet their requirement.

He further said the Corporation had reviewed the tax amount for about 23,055 buildings and collected Rs 11.43 crore. Remaining commercial complexes would also be reviewed, he added. In this regard, the Corporation would get Rs 145.9 crore per year, he said.
When J Kalaprabhakar from

camps as the chances for spreading of jaundice were high in the summer
season, the Mayor said steps would be taken to organise special health
camps.
