American Megatrends Inc, data storage solutions major launched its high-tech storage device 'StorTrends iTX2.7 IP SAN' in the city yesterday.

Jayaram Krishnan, CEO, American Megatrends while speaking to mediapersons said that the new device supports dual dialect (NAS plus IP-SAN) technology, provides both block file capability for customers to utilise various applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL server and other Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).

StorTrends iTX2.7 software provides true enterprise-level features at a pricing limit that is within the range of small and medium sized businesses.

Krishnan said the storage capacity of the device started from one Terra Byte (TB) to 256 TB and added that the eight TB device would cost $20,000.

He said thin provisioning enables the administrator to create and manage storage volumes without restrictions and added that the provisioned volume size could be significantly larger than the current physical storage capacity. The storage unit also incorporated SAS drives as well as SATA drives. A sophisticated algorithm in the device maintained critical often-used data in both SAS and STS drives.

AMI's solution is the key to the needs of storage handling requirements. And the company targets Indian and Middle East/Asean markets with its state-of-the-art IP SAN offerings.
