Sify Ltd revenue soars

        Sify Limited, a leader in consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery capabilities, reported revenues of $ 34.6 million for the quarter ended 30 June 2007, 6.6 per cent higher than the quarter during the same period last year. The sequential growth in revenues over the previous quarter was (1.5 per cent). Net loss for the quarter was $ 1.27 million compared to a net profit of $1.54 million in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Net profit for the quarter was impacted due to provision for doubtful debts on overdue amounts carried on the books for a period of time amounted to $1.28 million during the quarter; Exchange loss of $0.4 million incurred on account of the stronger Rupee against the Dollar compared to exchange gain of $1.1 million in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Supreme Industries net up

        Supreme Industries Ltd continued to impress with better performance with net revenues for the year 2006-07 at Rs 1,168.33 crore as against Rs 986.73 crore in the previous year, registering a growth of over 18 per cent. The profits before depreciation, exceptional income and tax grew by 38 per cent from Rs 74.97 crore in 2005-06 to Rs 103.29 crore in the current fiscal. Net profit after setting aside tax provisions of Rs 23.34 crores (previous year Rs 10.37 crore) grew over 25 per cent from Rs 39.96 crore in 2005-06 to Rs 50.15 crore in 2006-07. The board of directors of the company in its meeting has proposed final dividend of Rs 5 per equity share, which including interim dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share on present equity share capital, post bonus issue in the ratio of 1 : 1 made last year, works out 50 per cent higher than the last year's dividend of Rs 10 per share declared.

Maruti rides high in Q1

        Car market leader Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) registered total income of Rs 41,540.7 million during April-June 2007, a growth of 27.08 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. Net profit during April-June 2007 stood at Rs 4996 million, up 35.18 per cent over the same period last fiscal. During the quarter April-June 2007, the company's sales in the domestic market, was 160,604 units, a growth of 17.1 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Total sales, including exports, during the April-June 2007 period was 169,669 units, up 17.1 per cent over April-June 2006.
