Inspector General of Police, North zone, Chennai, K Radhakrishnan flagging off the helmet rally in Chidamabram.

        A campaign to promote the use of helmet by motorists was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Annamalai University recently.

        According to press release, flagging off the rally, Inspector General of Police, North zone, Chennai, K Radhakrishnan stressed the need of wearing helmet and informed it is the NSS volunteers' responsibility to spread the message to the public.

        He also hinted that two wheeler accidents account for higher highway mortality and appreciated the social responsibility of NSS volunteers in spreading the goodwill message to the public.

        Later the NSS volunteers went round Chidamabaram town on their motor bikes wearing helmets and distributed pamphlets.

        Co-ordinator of NSS, Annamalai University, T R Jeyaraj and other teaching and non-teaching faculties of the college were present.
