The Chennai-based Huclin Research Limited, an independent clinical reseach organisation (CRO), has commenced a full array of clinical research activities to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies here.
Strategically located in Ticel Bio-Park, HRL will provide high standard quality clinical research services such as design and conduct of biovailability/ bioequivalence studies including fasting study, food effect study, pharmacokinetic' pharma-codynamic studies and special population studies.
Dr Mahalingam Vasudevan, executive director, HRL said that in the first phase, the company has invested Rs 7 crore towards setting up bio-analytical facility and clinical beds at Ticel Bio-Park. In the phase II, an additional Rs 15 crore will be spent on developing multi-centric trial centres across India.
The company has also created quality infrastructure to conduct clinical trial services including the design and conduct of phase I to IV studies, protocol design and development, optimising clinical trial design and patient population, designing of case record form, quality of life forms.
HRL will provide project management services such as pharmacovigilance and safety reporting and post marketing surveillance, site management activities and statistical analysis, medical writing and clinical data management.
Dr Vasudevan said that the company will strive to provide best healtcare practices and clinical governance that helps to meet the scientific objectives and protect the interests of the healthcare professionals,subjects and other stake-holders against risks.
HRL has got 30 highly qualified and experienced people in various fields of bio-analytical and clinical trial studies. 'We are introducing sound risk management principles and processes into the systems and culture to ensure highest quality.
We believe in setting standards par excellence in conformance with the international regulatory guidelines and requirements', he added.
