CM, Jaya extend May Day greetings

        Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today extended greetings to the working class on the eve of May Day.

        Karunanidhi, in his message, said his government had done a lot for the welfare of workers and had revived the Tamilnadu farmers and farm workers welfare scheme, which was given up by the AIADMK government. His government was committed to the welfare of workers, he said.

        AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, in her message, said this (May Day) was the day on which the workers rose against exploitation and got their rights.

        Tamilnadu Congress Committee president M Krishnasamy greeted the workers and said that the Central and the State governments were successfully implementing schemes for uplift of the workers.

        Meanwhile, Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy called on the public to take an oath on May Day to make it a model State.
