Bijral, country head for RSA

        In a major development since its acquisition by EMC Corporation, RSA has announced the appointment of Amuleek Bijral as the head of its India operation. Designated as country manager, Amuleek's appointment is a reiteration of RSA's commitment to its Indian operation and the strategic importance that the operation plays in global terms. Amuleek was previously with EMC Singapore. A Harvard Business School alumnus, Amuleek worked with EMC on key emerging market initiatives with focus on India, Russia and China. He also worked with Microsoft and Tata Consultancy Services. Amuleek said, 'my main responsibilities will be for RSA's business growth and overall strategy of implementing an information centric approach to security in the country.'

Neeraj, marketing chief for Web18

        Web 18, the online division of Television Eighteen group webistes have announced the appointment of Neeraj Sanan as the marketing head for Web 18. He was earlier associated with Dabur India Ltd as the deputy general manager, marketing in the consumer care division. Previously, he has worked in Joyco India Pvt Ltd, ICI India Ltd, Asian Paints, and Steel Authority of India. His experience in sales and marketing across regions and sectors, has given him the ability to understand the consumer behaviour across markets, classes and age groups. His professional career comprises of a vast experience of 11 years in the field of sales and marketing. Neerja's core strength is project planning and implementation that takes into account the whole gamut of activities.

New MD for GM India

        General Motors announced Karl Slym as the president and managing director of GM India effective from 1 October, 2007.

        Slym replaces Rajeev Chaba, who has been appointed as chairman and managing director of GM Egypt after spearheading General Motors growth in India for the past two years. Slym has held the dual roles of GM Asia-Pacific vice president and GM Daewoo Automotive and Technology VP based in South Korea since January 2006.
 
        He worked in the United Kingdom, including Toyota UK, prior to joining General Motors in 1997.  His GM roles have included senior manufacturing positions in Gliwice, Poland and Oshawa, Canada.  He was appointed president of CAMI Automotive, a joint venture between GM of Canada and Suzuki Motor Corporation in Ingersoll, Canada, in 2002 prior to joining the Asia-Pacific leadership team.

        General Motors India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation.  GM India manufactures the Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Tavera at its state-of-the-art facility in Halol.
