        A CISF policemen allegedly stabbed a senior officer for suspending him from duty at the Chennai Airport last night.

        The senior officer who sustained serious knife injuries was admitted to a private hospital.

        Police said, Vijayakumar, a subedhar, attached to the Bomb Disposal Squad of the CISF suspended a policemen Arumugam following a departmental probe recently.

        Last night, when Vijayakumar was taking rest in his room, an apparently vengeful Arumugam gained entry and stabbed his senior and fled the place.

        On hearing Vijayakumar's cries for help, personnel on security duty went to the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

        A team headed by Assistant Commissioner Kuppusamy is investigating the case.

        It may be noted that several policemen have been deployed at the airport in view of President Pratibha Patil's visit tomorrow.
