        A mini-marathon is to be held on 9 September to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.

        It is being organised by SNEHA, a suicide prevention organisation for the depressed, desperate and the suicidal.

        According to a press release, the marathon would be covering 6 km from Abacus Montessori School, Besant Road, Adyar, to create awareness on suicide prevention among the public. About 1,000 people are expected to take part. Attractive prizes would be offered to the winners.

        Poet and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi would flag off the event.
