        Evoke Ventures Pvt Ltd, a Chennai-based retail major and part of Rs 200 crore GKK Export-Taurus group, has unveiled its leather products under brand name Fuse in the city yesterday.

        Speaking during the launch, Gilbert James, director, Evoke Ventures said that the company has plans to open exclusive Fuse shops in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai by the end of this fiscal. By next year it would open shops in Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Goa, Chandigarh and Cochin. Besides exclusive retail shops in premier locations across country, the company would open prime outlets at airports too.

        Ian Waddell, CEO, Chrysalis Retail said that the company is focusing on Middle East, East Asia and Eastern Europe to sign up exclusive franchising and distribution. Fuse is confident of having around 100 exclusive franchisee stores and over 2000 point of sales worldwide.

        Bhuvan Kumar, managing director, GKK said that GKK-Taurus group through its equity contribution of Rs 5 crore has funded the development so far. However, Evoke is in the process of evaluating various strategic funding options with venture capital and investment banking firms to speed up its expansion plans.

        The range of leather products include handbags, briefcases, wallets and laptop cases. Fuse brand has also outlets in New York, Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, Shanghai and Capetown.

        Evoke has entered into a strategic partnership with the UK based Chrysalis Strategic Retail (a retail consultant company) to evolve Fuse as the best international franchisee brand from India. Fuse international products range from leather accessories, footwear, clothes, fragrances and costume jewellery.
