Chennai, May 30:

        A head constable, attached to Triplicane Police Station law and order wing, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Cochin House police quarters early this morning.

        Police sources, said constable Jayaraman (32) was found hanging from the ceiling this morning. The reasons for the cop taking this extreme step is not known.

        He is survived by his wife and a five-year-old daughter.

        Police sent the body to the government hospital for post mortem.
