        Three-Time World Champion and Asian Games 2006 Gold Medalist Pankaj Advani of India advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the Asian Billiards Championship being played at Doha, where he had clinched the yellow metal late last year.

        Pankaj who won all his four matches in Group D without much ado, reached the last eight stage even before completing his last of the round robin league match against Myanmar's Aung Htay. The two will clash to decide the pool topper with Htay also keeping his slate clean.

        The other Indian in the fray, Rupesh Shah, also won all his matches comfortably to cruise into the quarterfinal stage. He meets Peter Gilchrist of Singapore in his last league encounter.
