        A 17-year-old boy who went for a bath in Puzhal lake was caught in the slush and got drowned last night.

        Police said one Gopi (17) of T T Garden, Perambur, along with two other friends went to his friend's house at Red Hills. They decided to take a bath in Puzhal lake last evening. When four of them went into the lake for swimming, they found Gopi missing. Later, on hearing his cries, they tried to pull him out but their effort went in vain, as he was caught in the slush. They immediately alerted the fire and rescue officials at Red Hills, who after battling for sometime rescued him from a slush.

        However the boy died on way to Stanley Hospital.
