The votes are in and the verdict is out. Vijay TV's 8.30 Manikku enna parkalam, a novel concept in which the viewers chose what they want to see hit television screens on 30 April.
The show featured six different stories over six weeks and the viewers had to choose their favourite serial. The show was hosted by actor-turned-director Suhasini Manirathnam who took the viewers through each of the story and analysed them threadbare.
The viewers is in favour of Madurai produced by Touring Talkies and directed by Gerald. It will be aired by Vijay TV as a megaserial from 16 July (Monday - Thursday at 8:30 p.m).
In an effort to make the audience get to learn pure Tamil, Makkal TV is airing Sol Vilayattu on weekdays at 9 pm, hosted by Karthiga. The programe willl introduce a few new Tamil words everyday.
The one-hour phone-in programme, aired live, has three rounds, where the participant has to crack a jumble, find out the missing letters, form the correct Tamil word and unravel the hidden personality, supplemented with clues.

For those aspiring young dancers, Jaya TV rolls out a new dance show, Dance Machi Dance, Wednesdays at 9.30 pm.
Spread over three segments, each episode will have two teams of dancers who will try to outdo the other.
The coordination between
the team mates, the perfection in their presentation and their adaptability
will be taken into account in these segments. Choreographer Ramji will
judge their performance.
Vijay TV's Airtel Super Singer Junior, the reality hunt show, has reached its last leg. The show which served as a platform to encourage young singers had gained momentum in the past weeks.
A special one-and-half-hour show will be telecast today (6 July) at 8 p.m.
In the first round, the topper will have to take on the lowest ranker. They will have to sing two songs, an old song and a recent number.
The judges are Kavitha Krishnamoorthy, Usha Uthup and S P Shailaja.
Two performers with less scores will be eliminated and the other two will move on to the next round.
Emerging as the best singer largely depends on the maximum votes they gain from the viewers.

The voting lines will be open from today till Sunday (8 July) - 8 p.m only.
Last week, the finalists Krishnamoorthy, Vignesh, Saicharan and Abarna were ranked by singers 'Pop' Shalini and Sriram Parthasarathy on their performances.
