AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

A novel attempt

(Iruvar Mattum)

There are just two characters in Iruvar Mattum, initially titled By2. Yet, director Dwaraki Raghavan has managed to come up with an engrossing tale.

Slick editing towards the climax could have made a bigger difference, it must be said.

Backed by a good technical team, Dwaraki Raghavan has shot the film in exotic and lush locations. PKH Das' camera has captured the beauty of the forests well.

The special effects and background score by S P Venkatesh deserve. Vijay Anthony has come up with a couple of good numbers.

Abhay and Sunitha Verma are the protagonists. It is certainly difficult for just a couple of characters to hold the attention of the audience for over two hours but to their credit they have the same.

The hero, a youth living in seclusion, in the forest, has played his part well.

Having acted in some Kannada movies earlier, Iruvar Mattum is Abhay's debut in Tamil. Sunitha Verma, who started with 6.2, fits the bill.

The movie begins with Selvi (Sunitha Verma), losing her way and finding herself in a forest. She comes across Azhagu (Abhay), an orphan, who lives in the woods.

After several misunderstandings, they come to know each other and decide to get married. Selvi is shocked when she learns about Azhagu's uncivilised ways after marriage. How she manages to correct him forms the rest.
