| AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA |
Many doubted Dhanush’s credentials to act in films directed by those other than brother Selvaraghavan. However, the wiry actor has proved everyone wrong, with a good show in director Boopathy Pandian’s film.
Not experimenting too much, he plays the boy-next door comfortably. At ease in the role, Dhanush has preferred to go the Rajnikanth (his father-in-law) way. The movie is a heady cocktail of commercial elements one can come across in Rajnikanth films. Dhanush, whose career has hit a low after the failure of Pudhupettai, has come up trumps here. The heroine Shreya looks gorgeous and has scope to perform. Prakashraj plays his part well while rest do the job entrusted to them.
The movie revolves around Thiru (Dhanush),
who invites the wrath of his parents for behaviour and leaves home house
one night following a tiff with them. He comes across Priya (Shreya) and
immediately falls for her. Thiru decides to approach her brother Guru (Prakashraj),
a rich industrialist and seeks his permission to marry (Shriya). In true
filmy style, the brother resists, but Thiru manages to convince Priya.
Meanwhile, Guru strikes a business deal with Thiru so as to ensure
that he splits with the heroine. However, Thiru has other ideas. Does he
succeed in marrying Priya forms the rest of the story.
Boopathy Pandian, who has worked with director Sundar C earlier, has come up with witty dialogues. Mouli, Karunas and Mayilsamy, given the limited screen space, do succeed in evoking laughter.
The scenes where Prakashraj encounters Dhanush look amateurish and straight out of some Rajnikanth films.
Imman’s songs are hummable while Vaithi plays his part well behind the camera.
It must be said Dhanush has taken a break from movies with adult themes to provide a clean entertainer.
