Stalin chairs his first district secys meet

Chennai: M K Stalin today chaired his first district secretaries meeting after becoming the working president of the DMK.
During the meeting at the DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam in the city, various crucial issues including strategies to face the local body elections and intensifying protests against the AIADMK government were discussed, sources said.
DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan, Durai Murugan and other senior leaders were present. Meanwhile, popular actor Radha Ravi today enrolled himself in the DMK again. He was with the AIADMK earlier.
Speaking to reporters after joining the party in the presence of Stalin, he said Stalin is the only eligible leader in Tamilnadu politics now.
Stalin was in New Delhi last week and requested President Pranab Mukherjee to annul the Vote of Confidence and direct the Governor to order for a fresh floor test through secret ballot.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan here, he said unprecedented violence took place in the TN Assembly on the day trust vote was held.
“After throwing all 89 DMK MLAs out, a Confidence Vote was held. We have apprised the President about it and the way in which Assembly Speaker conducted the proceedings in favour of the ruling party,” said Stalin.
Also, he led a State-wide hunger protest by the DMK, condemning the ‘murder of democracy’ in the Assembly.
