As part of the celebrations 'Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities' and to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, Deutsche Philharmonie Merck, one of Europe's most celebrated orchestras was in city recently.

According to a press release, the orchestra was performed at The Music Academy. This is the orchestra's third visit to India in 10 years and as part of the seven-city tour after Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. 'Merck is proud of its heritage, which spans nearly three and a half centuries, and the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck Orchestra is symbolic of our long tradition of cultural commitment,' said Marek Dziki, managing director, Merck Limited. |
