Varun Aaron's three-wicket haul, including dismissals of Scot Borthwick and Stuart Meaker in Sunday's ODI against England, suggests a bright future for the lanky pacer, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's coach Chanchal Bhattacharya said yesterday.

'The two wicket-taking balls against Borthwick and Meaker in yesterday's ODI were really delightful to watch.

.

If he maintains consistency along with maintaining pace, we could very well see another Kapil Dev in the making,' Bhattacharya told PTI.

Bhattacharya, however, has a piece of advice to the 21-year-old from Jharkhand if he wanted to emulate Kapil.

'In his time Kapil Dev was known for his physical fitness that helped him achieve such a feat and Varun needs to follow how the legendary pace bowler maintained his physical fitness for such a long time,' Bhattacharya, who was one of the three coaches during Dhoni's formative years, said.

He said he had watched Varun from close in an under-19 match in Palamau when he was one of the umpires.

'His strides were very impressive and he worked hard to generate the extra amount of pace,' Bhattacharya said.

Former Bihar Ranji captain Adil Hussein said, 'I watched him bowl against the English batsmen yesterday and am really impressed with his debut figures of three for 24.'
